PlayStation $100 Free Store Credit Available For You to Claim

Free money!

Sony PlayStation is giving out $100 free store credit to spend how you please, but there is a catch.

Now and again, we may see rumblings across social media with the likes of Sony and Microsoft sending out £5 or £10 gift credit to spend on the respective digital stores with no catch whatsoever. Although I’ve never been so lucky.

Sure, if we’re fortunate enough to claim a free game or DLC, I’d never look a gift horse in the mouth, because it would always be a nice bonus. However, receiving $100 in free credit is a next-level bonus.

Well, that’s exactly what Sony is doing right now, by emailing select PlayStation 5 customers with $100 credit to spend on the PSN store.

As brought to our attention by PlayStation LifeStyle, courtesy of Sony’s “upgrader program”, select customers are being sent the free credit for those who have upgraded to any new PS5 console this month.

Emails sent to lucky customers are instructed to register their console by 20 September 2025 to receive the free $100 PSN credit. To qualify, you’d need to have upgraded from PS4 to PS5 or PS5 to PS5 Slim/Pro.

Consoles purchased before the offer went live on 26 August 2025 will still be eligible, as long as you didn't activate/register your console before that date.

Once the $100 is claimed, it will be added to your PSN wallet and will be automatically deducted when purchases are made.

So if there is a new release or pre-order that you’ve had your eye on, you can essentially buy it for free and maybe have some change left over.

Sadly, as far as we can tell, this offer is only available for customers in the United States of America. There is no equivalent offer elsewhere, at least at the time of writing.
