The first new arrival for September’s PlayStation Plus selection has been revealed and subscribers are less than impressed.

August is almost at an end and as we go into the colder months, PlayStation Plus members will also be looking forward to some brand-new titles arriving on the service.

Check out the trailer for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions below!

Although we have yet to learn September’s full line-up, we do know that Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will be one of them.

Set to release on 3 September, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is an upcoming sports game focusing on the fictional game of Quidditch which was made famous in the books by J.K. Rowling.

Developed by Unbroken Studios and published by Warner Bros., this will be the first Harry Potter related game since Hogwarts Legacy in early 2023.

However, its arrival to the PS Plus service has made subscribers less than pleased and they took to r/PlayStationPlus to share their frustrations.

The post was made alongside the trailer for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions which did not help the matter.

“I understand this is basically a sports game based on fantasy, so the bar for quality is incredibly low, but it still looks really weird just dropping in movie clips from a 23 year old movie into the trailer,” one comment read.

Another said: “I played this s**t in beta and it’s dog s**t. It’s good for like 10 minutes then boring.

I don’t think they were a fan.

However, there were some fans who were feeling the nostalgia, especially as this is the first Quidditch focused game since Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup was released in 2003 for the PlayStation 2 and Game Boy.

“My god, I hope they’ve made this a good experience,” another comment read.

“I remember being a little boy and spending hours on my game boy playing the Quidditch game. What a blast from the past!”
