Good things don’t last forever, and when it comes to PlayStation Plus games, that saying has never been more true. We’re sad to announce that it’s the last chance saloon to play the incredible Chicory for free. Oh, and some other games are leaving too.

Released on 21 June 2021, this indie RPG stole the hearts of all who’ve played it, thanks to its colourful imagery and adorable animations. Gamers have to paint their way through a world of black and white, bestowing colour onto the land wherever they go – if it sounds whimsical, that’s because it is. Described as a “picture perfect delight”, it’s easily one of the best games of the last decade to leave PS Plus.

Live colourfully with Chicory before it's too late!

Praised for its relaxing qualities, fans are recommending anyone who hasn’t played Chicory to get it for free while they still can, “If anyone needs a relaxing game I can 100% recommend Chicory. It also has a really good story”.

As players wave bye-bye to Chicory, they’ll also watch both Watch Dog games, Deathloop, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, and a handful of others leave the warm embrace of PS Plus as well. You can see the full list of games leaving below:

  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands
  • Watch Dogs
  • Watch Dogs 2
  • Death end re;Quest 2
  • Deathloop
  • Steep
  • Chicory: A Colourful Tale
  • Through the Darkest of Times
  • Nidhogg 2

If you want to know exactly how long it’ll take to play each of these games, a kind Redditor has listed the games with their mainline story times in brackets. Sometimes Reddit is a scary place, but every now and again a hero steps up in our hour of need.

Most of the games mentioned leave on 19 September. However, there’s one exception to that rule, with Steep reportedly leaving on 31 August instead. Even if it does stick around little longer, there’s not a lot of time to complete these games, not unless you’re a speedrunner of legend like the absolute boss who finished Baludr’s Gate 3 in 10 minutes!

While losing such great games is a tough time we just have to power through, there’s the beacon of hope that is the 469 titles currently available to download for free via PlayStation Plus. When one door closes…
