A new month is almost upon us and to celebrate, Sony has announced a day-one release to go alongside the exciting titles already being added to PlayStation Plus in July.

Earlier this week saw Sony reveal which exciting games would be added to its PlayStation Plus Essential service throughout July.

It included Diablo IV (PS5 and PS4), King of Fighters XV (PS5 and PS4), and Jusant (PS5), as the headliners but it now seems as though one more title will be added to the list and better yet, it will be a day-one release.

The game will be co-op survival crafter Abiotic Factor and it will arrive on PlayStation 5 on 22 July.

Developed by Deep Field Games, the survival crafting experience is for one to six players and is set deep in an underground research facility.

“Home to the world's greatest minds, GATE operates a global network of secretive research laboratories, spanning every field of scientific study - and the realms beyond,” the official synopsis reads.

“As a GATE employee you extend the bounds of human knowledge, and seek to explain the unexplainable - including anomalies and paranormal entities: from gravity-distorting artifacts to supernatural creatures with an unbridled instinct for violence. Safety, security, and secrecy are of the utmost importance… usually.”

Players must navigate a paranormal containment failure, a military crusade and the chaos from a dozen realms as they fight to survive against the universe’s biggest threats.

“Use brains – not brawn – to survive, inventing and hacking your way sector by sector, inter-dimensional portal by inter-dimensional portal, to finally – hopefully – escape,” the official PlayStation blog post reads.

Since its PC release back in May 2024, it has managed to reach an ‘overwhelmingly positive’ rating on Steam so it is safe to say that you do not want to miss out on this one when it finally makes its way to the PlayStation 5.

Abiotic Factor arrives as a Day 1 release on the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue on 22 July 2025.
