It doesn't look promising

Next month another handful of games will be leaving the Extra game catalogue on PlayStation Plus, a shame because some of them are pretty decent hits.

Despite a variety of problems in recent months PlayStation Plus feels like it’s better than ever, especially following the news that its competitor Xbox Game Pass is getting a major price hike.

One big highlight is the addition of PlayStation 2 games being added to the service, making that costly Premium tier slightly more worth the money.

However while the recent additions to the Extra game catalogue and even some of the Essential free games have been all well and good, you might be disappointed to hear some underrated bangers are leaving the service as well.

These titles will disappear next month, and will consist of NBA 2K24, Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed, Need For Speed Unbound, Trials of Mana, and Spellforce 3 Reforced.

Not the most exciting bundle of games at first glance, but a few of them have their charm with one of my personal favourites being Trials of Mana which is a lovely 3D remake of the classic RPG. A quick note on this one is it’s currently got a hefty discount as part of the sales, so if you’re part way through on PlayStation Plus but want to finish it, now’s the time to make it a permanent resident in your library.

Additionally NBA 2k24 is great for any basketball fans, and Destroy All Humans games are always good for a laugh, even more so with upgraded visuals and refined gameplay.

Need For Speed Unbound and Spellforce 3 Reforced are also fine games you should give a go before they disappear.

All of the above games will be shuffled off PlayStation Plus by the end of August, so if you’re part way through a playthrough or plan on trying them before they go, now’s the time to get to it.
