PlayStation Plus free game slammed as 'waste of a slot'

One of the latest additions to PlayStation Plus has caused upset amongst subscribers, since it’s the inferior version.

PlayStation Plus either has it or it doesn’t, and while some of the latest additions like Sifu and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot have been pretty good so far there’s always an odd one out, and this time around it’s a PSP game.

The game we’re talking about today is Gods Eater Burst, which was recently the topic of conversation on the PlayStation Plus subreddit for being a “waste of a slot.”

In a post by Apprehensive_You7871, disgruntled users shared their disappointment for the game being added to the PlayStation Plus Classic line.

The reason fans were so annoyed with its inclusion is it’s a PSP game, which isn’t out of the ordinary or anything to be frustrated about until you realise a HD remaster of Gods Eater Burst is available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

When you take that into consideration it’s no wonder fans are disappointed that their costly subscription to PlayStation Plus is actually giving them access to the inferior version of some games.

Other subscribers in the comments agreed, with one pointing out Sony has done a similar thing with other exclusive, beloved franchises like MediEvil, Ape Escape and more.

Another subscriber said PlayStation Plus Classics “are an absolute joke,” and they have “no idea why Sony refuses to port games over” from the PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 instead of the portable versions.

It’s a shame because Gods Eater Burst is a fine game, and its addition to PlayStation Plus will at least put it on the map for those who’ve never heard of it, just a shame it’s not the best version currently available.
