PlayStation Plus users have been recommended a new free game that’s just hit the service.
Despite recent price hikes, PlayStation Plus still remains an affordable way to enjoy loads of new game experiences, that is much cheaper than the upfront cost of buying every new game.
With the latest wave of free titles, subscribers have been able to enjoy games like Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2.
However, one game that may have gone under the radar with this latest batch is Bramble: The Mountain King, an adventure game from 2023 based on Scandinavian mythology.

Released in April 2023, Bramble: The Mountain King is about Olle, a young boy from a Nordic land whose sister is kidnapped by a troll. Olle ventures through this mystical land to rescue her, happening across different creatures and monsters on his perilous journey.
Players on the PlayStation Plus Reddit page are also recommending the game.
“What an adventure and truly not for the faint hearted,” reads a post from user Fickle_Acanthaceae17. “This game has some very deep and dark subjects, I really wasn't ready for the emotional rollercoaster. Honestly, it's one of the best games I've played for free in a long time. It's very good.”

The post then asks if other subscribers have managed to play it yet, to which a few agree with OP’s assessment.
“I really enjoyed it. It's a bit like the art style of Unravel with the gameplay of Little Nightmares,” reads one comment in the post.
“About an hour in and really enjoying it. Loving the atmosphere and dark tone that is rather unexpected,” reads another.
“Incredible game. I played it on Game Pass a couple years ago but plan to double dip, it was really great,” reads a third comment.
Bramble: The Mountain King is developed by Dimfrost, a Swedish developer which first designed the game to be about Vikings. When it found the idea to be overdone, this was changed to Swedish folklore.
The game was received pretty well at launch, with 76% of critics recommending the game as well as having a top critic average of 79.
It was previously made available on Xbox Game Pass, but has now made its way over to PlayStation Plus Extra this month along with Star Wars Outlaws, Red Dead Redemption 2, Bramble: The Mountain King, The Thaumaturge, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Broken Sword – Shadows of the Templar: Reforged, and Enotria: The Last Song Standard Edition. Time Crisis on the PS1 has also come to PlayStation Plus Premium this month.
