PlayStation gamers can claim a free download this week for a promising new and charming game.

It’s always a nice bonus when we can check out a game for free, before parting with our hard-earned cash. After all, we’ve all been there before when we’ve spent our money on a game we’ve looked forward to, only for it to suck.

It’s why free playable demos can be a blessing, because they can provide a far better insight than a trailer to how good or bad a game might be. However, as good as demos are, trials are even better.

For the most part, the main difference between a typical demo and a trial is that a trial usually gives full access to all of a game's features (granted for a limited time), and if you decide to make the full purchase, save data and trophies will carry over.

One such trial is arriving later this week on Thursday, 31 July, for the charming indie game, developed by Krillbite Studio and published by Silver Lining Interactive, Fruitbus.

“A journey of flavours and friendships awaits you in your cosy, customisable food truck,” reads the synopsis of the game. “Forage for fresh ingredients to create your own menu, then feed tummies and souls with home-cooked meals. Change the world, one apple at a time.”

“Pacific Drive meets Bugsnax,” said xdsweatypalms5296 in the comments section of the YouTube trailer.

“I’ve played this game, and I love it,” exclaimed voltunecordbot.

“If I were five years old, this would be my Elden Ring,” declared Mellodox.

There is one major caveat, however, and that’s that the Fruitbus trial will only be available for PlayStation Plus premium subscribers on PS5. That being said, there is also a free demo on Steam.

Fruitbus is available digitally right now on PC and PlayStation 5 in its full form. It will then arrive on Xbox and Nintendo Switch on 7 August.
