PlayStation Plus 220-Hour Freebie is Zelda Meets Stardew Valley

Worth a go

PlayStation users looking to fill their time should try out this charming RPG, which carries serious Legend Of Zelda and Stardew Valley vibes.

I wouldn't go too crazy with new playthroughs though, especially on PlayStation 5 as Ghost Of Yōtei will be with us very soon and the reviews are looking so, so good.

That said if you simply can’t wait without something to distract you Rune Factory 4 might be worth considering, but be warned it’s a long game.

Rune Factory 4’s description reads: “Welcome to Selphia, a region ruled by the Native Dragon Ventuswill...and you! After falling from the sky and landing on the back of a friendly dragon, the young hero or heroine is invited to live in the local castle and, as a newly designated ruler, begins their life anew while developing the town, exploring nearby dungeons, and cultivating the soil.

“Start an exciting new life and embark on a grand adventure in this beloved entry in the Rune Factory series!”

It has both Legend Of Zelda and Stardew Valley vibes to it, being a legendary adventure game with a lovely little artstyle and some farming-sim elements. If you like it, it's worth checking out the other entries in the series too.

Rune Factory 4 will take up a big chunk of your time though. HowLongToBeat says a normal playthrough of the game, where you just want to enjoy the story, will take you just short of 54 hours.

For those that want to take their time though and take on a few side quests that playthrough time will go up to around 111 hours.

Then, for the hardcore players that want to see and experience everything the game has to offer you could try your hand at a completionist run, which is estimated to take an extraordinary 219 hours.

That’s a long time, and even if you start it today you’ll likely miss the launch of Ghost Of Yōtei, so be warned before you take it on…

Rune Factory 4 is a solid game though, and if you’re a fan of Stardew Valley it’s well-worth a try.

You can also give the game a go at no additional cost through PlayStation Plus, though if you’d prefer the game can also be played on PC via Steam, for quite a low cost too if that sweetens the deal at all.
