PlayStation’s latest exclusive has caused outrage amongst players, prompting the developer to respond to the criticism.
Usually PlayStation exclusives are regarded as some of the best in gaming, like Marvel’s Spider-Man or God Of War: Ragnarok.
That’s not the case for Lost Soul Aside though, which is best described as Bloodborne meets Cyberpunk 2077.
While the game is available on Steam its console release is restricted to PlayStation and players have not been pleased with its performance.

One of the biggest problems noted is the performance of cutscenes, so much so that the developers have now responded to the criticism to say it’s “actively working on optimizations, and future updates will address this to deliver a smoother gameplay experience.”
On the X post where this was announced players took to the comments to share their biggest problems with the game, with one arguing that “smooth cutscenes matter just as much as gameplay.”
Another added “please fix the jumpy camera when running, only main problem.’
Others have stated it’s the type of game you’d have seen released for older PlayStation consoles, like one commenter who said “I’ve been deeply disappointed with the game, both in its mechanics and gameplay. It feels like a PS2 game in every sense.”

One of the biggest flaws I’ve seen is the enemies in the game don’t really react to the player in any meaningful way, with one clip showing the player’s character standing still while an enemy circled them forever, never attacking.
Given the criticism the game has been receiving as well as some of the footage it honestly feels like the second-coming of Devil May Cry 2…
That said there are players out there who are enjoying the game, and with demos available on PlayStation and Steam I’d recommend giving it a go for yourself.
