If I somehow had a vial of truth serum, I’d use it to get to the bottom of why it is that Bloodborne is doomed to dormancy.

It’s strange that Dark Souls spawned an entire trilogy while Bloodborne has been left to rot, especially considering how beloved it is.

It’s not as if it sold badly, plus its popularity has only grown over the years.

At the very least, the game deserves a new-gen 60fps update but, of course, any form of remaster, remake, or sequel would also be welcomed.

I can only think that Bloodborne’s dormancy stems from its publishing rights being uniquely owned by Sony although why Sony is so unwilling to do anything with them, I don’t know.

It’s a confusing affair.

I did think the game’s recent 10th anniversary might finally mark the end of the drought but alas no; that passed in March with very little fanfare.

If you want more Bloodborne, you’ll have to look outside the world of gaming.

For example, Bloodborne Vol. 1: The Death of Sleep Deluxe Edition is a new release that may help satiate your appetite.

If you are an avid fan of the IP then you’re perhaps likely already familiar with the official Bloodborne comics.

The Death of Sleep is a four-issue limited series which first debuted in 2018.

Set before the events of the game, it centres around a nameless hunter who must escort a small child out of Yharnum.

It’s basically The Last of Us but Bloodborne if you think about it.

Well, if you’re a huge fan of the story or simply want to check it out for the first time, Bloodborne Vol. 1: The Death of Sleep Deluxe Edition is a stunning reissue that’s surely going to be a must-buy for fans.

It features never-before-seen art, the original script, exclusive content and a gorgeous hardback cover.

The Death of Sleep is written by Ales Kot with art by Piotr Kowalski.

Fancy getting your hands on it? The book is officially out today!
