Over a decade after its release, Bloodborne is still proving its worth by unlocking new memories with features that have been hidden beyond even the most experienced players' beliefs.
It's the mark of a truly great game that only RPGs like Dark Souls, The Elder Scrolls, and The Witcher boast, but being able to surprise fans with hidden details after a decade is exactly what Bloodborne is all about.
The gothic, Victorian, blade-wielding fantasy game is iconic for its longevity, and this new find is exactly why.
In a world so dense with predators like huntsmen, beasts, giants, parasites, and nightmare creatures, it's usually the bosses that come up with the surprises.

However, after over 2,000 hours of gameplay, one player has now found that one of the more common deadly critters has a secret attack that will leave you devastated.
With Bloodborne getting a revival thanks to new, long-awaited fan-made 4k mods and updates, the PlayStation title is back at its peak, and returning players are enjoying uncovering more secrets.
Taking to Reddit, one player found that their run was swiftly ended by a beast that would usually be avoided. Often found in the Chalice dungeons, these scorpion-like creatures are renowned for their stinging tail strikes, but can often be swerved completely by taking alternative routes.
However, user 'Green-Cupcake6085' decided to take it head-on after clearing out the area of other threats.
Dodging the first attack to get up close, what they didn't encounter was a one-shot bite from the beast's teeth-laden torso, which they had never seen before.
Fellow players shared their bemusement, also having uncovered the secret attack recently, some 11 years after Bloodborne first came out.
"I had him on me there, too! It only happened once, and it was on one of my newer(ish) characters. So not too long ago. What a twisted, cruel fate," one player agreed.
Others noticed how the creature even spat slime on their prey, like Bloodborne's own bad manners mocking trope.
"He even vomited all over your corpse," a second person said.
The Dark Souls Gaping Dragon-like creature is strangely formidable, it seems.

It wouldn't be the first hidden feature to sprout out of the woodwork for Bloodborne after thousands of hours.
Another fan on the Reddit post confessed their own bemusement at another feature that they'd missed after a thousand hours of gameplay.
"Took a little over 1k hours on ds3 for me to find out Nameless King's Stormdrake could leap forward. Even then, I'm pretty sure I only saw it cuz he switched aggro to someone pretty far away," they said.
Just last year, we saw players find hidden chests that can only be interacted with through the walls of these Chalice dungeons, as the secrets continue to pour from the depths of the game like a never-ending gold mine.
If you're a relatively new player, there are actually some huge secrets that you may have passed over as we built a list of eight things you might have missed without realising, and with the aforementioned 4K mod now up and running, now might be the perfect time to bookmark that page and discover everything that this brilliant game has to offer.
