After 11 years of playing Blurredborne, the update you've all been waiting for is finally here.
Boasting one of the best stories ever made, especially its 'bloody good' opening that beats anything FromSoftware has tried since, Bloodborne is only let down by being stuck in 2015.
Its aesthetic era is trapped between a rock and a hard place, not being quirky and pixelated enough to be a block-face gimmick, but not good enough to be played today with a positive outlook.
Long-time fans of Bloodborne can forgive its 30fps blurred lines, but for new players, it's difficult to ignore the fact that it should be a beautiful Eldritch fantasy that your eyes can feast on..and it's not.

Well, it is now. 11 years after its creation, one modder has finally created the perfect 120fps, 4K resolution upgrade to Bloodborne.
We've long been chasing visual overhauls of Bloodborne, with one 60fps version landing on PlayStation earlier this year, while another unofficial PC port bumped things up to around 90fps throughout most of the playthrough.
Thanks to tech savants at Digital Foundry, and lead artist Christina, a new series of patches has been created for PS4 games running on PS5, bringing them into the modern day with 4K resolution.
Of course, the first game that they tested was Bloodborne, because, well, they had to.

In its first showcase to fans, the testing shows a 1080p version of the game running at 100-120fps consistently, only dipping if you start to ramp up the pixels. But let's be real, we don't need that - beggars can't be choosers, after all.
The mod could be transferred to other PlayStation 4 games, but it proves that it is possible to run Bloodborne at 120fps.
"We've seen 120Hz on PS4 apps running on PS5 before - specifically Call of Duty Warzone before the native current-gen upgrade arrived,” Digital Foundry said.
“But via modding, it seems to be the case that just about any PS4 app can run in 120Hz mode, and VRR can be enabled too. Add a frame-rate unlock patch, and games like Bloodborne can run at up to 120fps.
"There are clear technical hurdles in getting enhanced PS4 games running on PS5. But it is possible, and if there's no chance of a Bloodborne remaster or an upgrade along the lines of prior PS4 patches, this is the only route forward.”
So that ends the praying for a Bloodborne remaster, and now you can enjoy its spiritual successor without feeling guilty.
