PlayStation drops 16 'free' games you can claim, no PS Plus needed

It’s always a nice bonus to claim free video games, especially when it’s those that are critically acclaimed and that is most certainly the case with these PlayStation offerings and best of all, you won't even need a PS Plus subscription.

Regardless of the tier that you subscribe to, PlayStation Plus is the gift that keeps on giving, well, as long as you keep paying the subscription fee, of course. Recently, Sony dropped 16 free games for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in addition to three other titles included in PS Plus Essential for April 2024 and it offers some absolute bangers.

In 2022, Sony launched its PlayStation Stars rewards scheme. This scheme rewards players with digital points and collectables (not NFTs) which could be redeemed against other digital collectables to showcase on your PlayStation mobile app profile as well as spending the points on free store credit and video games.

To claim the free rewards, members of PS Stars must complete campaigns which could be something as simple as loading up a particular game often associated with the latest PlayStation Plus line-up. In other cases, you may be required to buy select video games for bonus points.
