PlayStation Drops 6 New Free Downloads You Don't Need PS Plus For

One of these is already one of the best games I've played this year

A bunch of freebies just hit the PlayStation Store, and you don’t need any kind of subscription to get your hands on them… but are they actually worth trying?

Hey, do you love free stuff?

You know, the type of free stuff that doesn’t require you to have a PlayStation Plus subscription?

Well, in that case, today is your lucky day– because the PlayStation Store just updated, and a whole slew of new demos can now be yours to try out.

First up, you've got Of Lies and Rain, from developer and publisher Castello Inc.

This is a first-person shooter VR game, so you will need a headset to try it. I'm only putting this one in because the reviews on this are incredible, so it seems like a slam dunk for anyone who's into PS VR stuff.

Next up, Casual Sport Series: Badminton from publisher Revulo Games.

Shockingly, this is a badminton game. Not gonna lie, I watched a little bit of gameplay and it looks a bit on the cheap side (which is probably why the game’s price tag is also on the cheap side).

Knightica is an autobattling rougelike with some RTS elements, from developers Mad Mango Games and publishers Goblinz Publishing.

I actually think this one looks pretty charming. Got a cute art style to it as well. Potentially worth a try.

Bermuda Survivor is an action roguelike shooter from developer and publisher Awaken Realms, and I've actually seen a lot of gameplay footage of this one already.

Looks like a blast, but it’s also very much my kind of game already, so your mileage may vary in that respect.

Here's a weird one: Gothic 1 Remake, from developer Alkimia Interactive and publisher THQ Nordic.

I will be completely honest with you, I forgot they were remaking this game. It’s probably been about 20 years since I played the original, so I am very, very curious to see how the remake holds up.

And finally, but certainly not least, SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance by developer Lizardcube and publisher SEGA.

This demo slaps. Even though I know I am biased, because I love the Shinobi games, I am certain most of you will thoroughly enjoy this one. If you only try one demo on this list, make sure it’s this one.

And that’s the whole list!
