PlayStation Plus’ extra tier has just gained what is easily one of the greatest video games of all-time. Any guesses?

It’s time to saddle up and yet out an almighty yeehaw because yes, I’m talking about Rockstar Games’ legendary Red Dead Redemption 2.

I’d hope I don’t need to spend too much time explaining why you should dive into this modern classic if you haven’t already. Surely, the urge is just innately within you, but I will for the renegades out there.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may look like a sequel based on its title but it’s actually the prequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption.

Our story begins in 1899, following a failed robbery by the Dutch Van Der Linde gang. As the gang faces the wrath of the law, we assume the role of member Arthur Morgan who must choose whether his allegiances or moral ideals will prevail.

You can most definitely dive into Red Dead Redemption 2 without having played Red Dead Redemption given the fact that chronologically, this story takes place first.

What I will say is that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a big undertaking. According to HowLongToBeat, most players spend around 50.5 hours in-game, with completionists increasing that to close to 185 hours.

Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

The cherry on top is the fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 scored an incredible 97 over on Metacritic upon release. You really can’t argue with that.

It isn’t the only banger joining PlayStation Plus. Extra tier users can also now enjoy Deceive Inc, The Sims 4: City Living, Crime Boss: Rockay City, The Settlers: New Allies, Stranded: Alien Dawn, Cat Quest, Cat Quest II, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame, and Watch Dogs.

Cat Quest and Cat Quest II are definitely the titles I’d point out and recommend from that list, followed by Watch Dogs - perfect for those of you who enjoy action RPGs and action-adventures, respectively.

Premium tier users will also get to enjoy 2Xtreme, G-Police and Worms Pinball.
