We all love some freebies, otherwise, why would you be here? And the freebies that are the topic of today’s discussion are for PlayStation gamers and no PS Plus subscription is required.

In 2022, Sony announced its PlayStation Stars rewards program, a scheme which rewards gamers with digital collectibles, free video games and even store credit to spend on the PlayStation Store. To acquire these digital freebies, all you have to do is sign up for PlayStation Stars, download the PS mobile app and complete easy-peasy campaigns.

Check out the Death Stranding trailer below!

For the most part, those campaigns will simply require you to boot up a specific game or acquire a certain in-game trophy. Depending on the campaign, you will be gifted with a digital collectable (not NFTs) or points to be spent on the digital store. You can choose from a small selection of digital titles but in my opinion, your reward points are best spent on the £5 or £20 store credit.

It may take a while to claim the free PlayStation Store credit, especially as it seems those reward points have been nerfed in recent months, but you’ll get there eventually. That being said, the PS Stars rewards have been announced for April 2024. Let’s start with how you can earn some precious reward points that you’ll eventually be able to spend on what you please.

Available right now, the ‘Apocalypse Edition’ campaign will reward you with 50 points for booting up either of the following, Days Gone, Death Stranding, DOOM Eternal or NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…. You can of course play each of those games properly, as they’re all amazing. All of those titles are available with PS Plus Extra and Premium.

Next up is the ‘Must-Play’ campaign which will bag you another 50 points for firing up Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends or Skul: The Hero Slayer. All three of those titles are included in the PlayStation Plus Essential tier.

Available on 11 April is the ‘PlayStation VR2 - Game Drop’ campaign which earns you yet another 50 points. However, on this occasion, rather than playing, you’ll have to purchase either of the following games via the PS Store, which includes Legendary Tales, Pavlov, Arizona Sunshine 2, or Beat the Beats VR.

Finally, from 15 April, you’ll be able to acquire the following digital items to proudly display in the PlayStation App mobile profile on the PS Stars display cabinet. By playing any PS5 or PS4 game you’ll receive a silver PS4 digital collectable. What’s more, by playing Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, you’ll be gifted the ‘Impundulu’ digital collectible when earning the in-game ‘A Once Black Sky’ trophy.

If you love frogs, then you’ll love the ‘Hop, Sleep, and a Jump’ digital collectible which can be acquired from 17 April. All you have to do is play Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story, Disney Dreamlight Valley, I Am Setsuna or Lemon Cake. Then on 18 April, you’ll also be able to acquire the ‘Synaptic Feedback II’ digital collectible by playing The Gardens Between, I Am Dead or Life of Delta.

So, there you have it, that’s what’s up for grabs this April 2024 with PlayStation Stars. Be sure to check back with us next month to see what other freebies you’ll be able to claim.
