Sony PlayStation has dropped three new downloads that you can play today with no PS Plus subscription required.

Gone are the days when we had the joy of picking up a video game magazine to check out the latest demos and trailers on a disc. In the modern digital age, the delivery of free playable demos is much more instant, including the free trials with PlayStation Plus Premium.

Check out the Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon trailer below!

While I do miss those nostalgic days of checking out the latest demo disc, downloading demos from platforms such as the PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace, Nintendo eShop and Steam offer such a convenience, that there’s practically no chance of going back to the way things were.

With that in mind, I’ve picked out three new indie demos that you can download and play today courtesy of the PlayStation Store.

  • Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon: “Embark on a grim journey throughout Avalon, an immersive world in which you shape your destiny through the choices you make and who you choose to become. With quests to undertake, characters to meet and mysteries to unfold around every corner, you'll carve your own path and leave your own mark on these sinister lands.”
  • Quriocity: “Humanity has developed faster-than-light travel technology and is now ready to create a multi-planet civilisation. You are the leader of the Quriocity 1 mission, which is directed on an alien planet very similar to Earth to create the very first alien colony.”
  • Balance Blox: “In this game, you must drop blocks on the balance. Blocks affect the balance according to their distance from the bottom triangle. Match three blocks of the same colour vertically or horizontally to remove them from the playfield. Every block has its own weight, so let them fall wisely. If the balance hits the ground, the game is over.”

Hopefully, at least one of the above three games tickles your fancy but if they don’t, there are tons more demos to check out on the PlayStation Store for free without a PS Plus subscription.
