PlayStation 5 gamers can claim a free demo for one of the most promising games of 2026 with no PS Plus required.
The year 2026 is already shaping up to be a fantastic time for gamers with Reanimal out this week and Resident Evil Requiem later this month, and that’s not taking into account GTA VI in the months ahead.
However, sometimes, in a year that boasts so many quality releases, some titles can get lost amongst the shuffle, such as Planet of Lana II, which arrives in March.
Developed by the indie studio Wishfully and published by Thunderful Publishing, Planet of Lana II is the sequel to the fantastic and charming adventure game that was released in 2023.

In the original Planet of Lana, Lana's planet of Novo is invaded by aliens - and everyone she loves and the place she calls home is under serious threat. It’s up to Lana and her cat-like companion, Mui, to save the day.

Without giving too much away, the story was as beautiful as it was heartbreaking. It has a gorgeous art style, perhaps inspired by Studio Ghibli, and it has fun side-scrolling gameplay and puzzle-solving. On Metacritic, Planet of Lana scored a respectable 80, which is still a little lower than I’d expected.

Nonetheless, value is in the eye of the beholder, and Planet of Lana is a fantastic game, in my opinion, which is why I can’t wait to play its sequel.
“As greed and power divide the tribes of their home planet, Lana and her little companion, Mui, must stand together against the forces reshaping their world – struggling not just for survival, but for the soul of their home,” reads the synopsis of Planet of Lana II.
When Does Planet of Lana II Come Out?
We’ve only got a few weeks to wait for the arrival of Planet of Lana II with its 5 March 2026 release date. However, you can download a demo for the game right now to get a sample of the goods.
Announced on the Planet of Lana social media channels, the free playable demo for the sequel is available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. But you may also be pleased to know that it’s available on PC and Xbox.
If you’re concerned that there will be no Nintendo Switch demo, then fear not. Replying to a fan on Twitter, it was confirmed that a demo on both Switch platforms is coming soon.
