PlayStation 5 has dropped two free demos that you can download and play today, with no PS Plus subscription required whatsoever.
Most of us enjoy epic trailers from time to time, whether they're for an upcoming video game, a TV series or a movie. However, as good as that trailer might be, some trailers can be very deceptive.
We’ve all been there, duped by an epic trailer, only to be let down come release. After all, a trailer is designed primarily to entice us into purchasing a product. Cynical, I know.
It’s why a free playable demo can be vital, giving us the best indication as to whether or not we should part with our hard-earned cash. Sure, a demo can still dupe us, but I think it’s fair to say that risk can be drastically reduced compared to making a purchase purely on what we’ve seen in a trailer.
Download These PS5 Demos Today
If you want to check out a couple of PlayStation 5 games that offer something different to the typical huge AAA title, then look no further than these promising games that you can play today.

The first game is called DAMON and BABY, developed and published by the indie team at Arc System Works. This is a top-down, twin-stick shooter that encourages the simplest joy of exploring and attacking just about everything in sight. It also has some lovely cell-shaded visuals, which is a nice bonus.

However, DAMON and BABY is more than a ‘shoot everything in sight game’, because judging by its gameplay trailer, it looks like there is a big emphasis on strategy, especially when it comes to defeating its challenging bosses. DAMON and BABY isn't out until this Thursday, but you can download its demo right now.
Then we have Kusan: City of Wolves, another top-down shooter, but this one looks to have been inspired somewhat by the indie sensation, Hotline: Miami. Developed by CIRCLEfromDOT, this promising game also gives me Cyberpunk 2077 vibes with its dystopian themes.
The gameplay of Kusan: City of Wolves looks high-octane, and the visuals are wonderfully gory. What’s not to love? This game does not have a release date at the time of writing, other than a tentative 2026 launch. But you can at least download its demo today.
Hopefully, at least one of the two demos above will not only tickle your fancy but will also let you know whether it's worth the full purchase or not.
