There’s plenty of fun to be had for subscribers of Sony’s PlayStation Plus service, no matter the tier. However, PlayStation gamers can enjoy this gorgeous RPG for free with no PS Plus needed. Happy days!

It’s always nice to play an upcoming game ahead of its big launch, especially for free. In previous console generations, playable demos were more of a common practice and I used to love checking out what demos were on the disc featured in the latest official PlayStation Magazine from the PS1 and PS2 days.

Check out the Granblue Fantasy: Relink trailer below!

Sadly, as time passed, playable demos became few and far between. They were common during the PS3 and Xbox 360 days on digital stores, but those demos eventually dwindled as we moved into the next console generation. Playable demos are still present on platforms such as Steam, but it’s becoming increasingly unlikely that you’ll find a playable demo on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S digital stores. That is unless you subscribe to the PS Plus Premium tier which offers a wide variety of trials ranging from less than an hour to up to five hours, depending on the game.

Developed and published by Crygames Inc., the free playable demo for the RPG in question is Granblue Fantasy: Relink and it’s available to download now for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The demo will allow players to experience some of the Story Mode as well as some missions from the Quest Mode with three other friends in co-op (not the shop) or with the AI. What’s more, by playing the demo, you’ll be able to unlock rewards for the full game.

“A grand adventure in the skies awaits! Form a party of four from a diverse roster of skyfarers and slash—or shoot or hex—your way to victory against treacherous foes in this action RPG. Take on quests solo or with the help of others in up to 4-player co-op play,” reads the description of Granblue Fantasy: Relink.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is currently scheduled to be released for PC and PlayStation on 1 February 2024.
