PlayStation 6 specification details have leaked and could suggest the next-gen console may arrive sooner than we want.
No doubt, it will be an exciting time when Sony releases its PlayStation 6, which should take the likes of God of War, Gran Turismo and The Last of Us to the next level of visual fidelity, performance and gameplay experiences.
However, as much as I’m looking forward to the next generation of consoles, including the Xbox, I have some major concerns with the potential price.
This current generation has already seen more than one price hike for the likes of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, consoles that are half a decade old at this point.

Furthermore, the PlayStation 5 Pro, which launched in late 2024, had an RRP of £699.99, and that's for a console which not only came without a disc drive but also the customary vertical stand in the box.
So who knows how much the PlayStation 6 might cost us at launch, that’s assuming that scalpers don't gobble up all the stock, resulting in genuine gamers unable to get the console for months on end.
If the PlayStation 6 is about the same cost as the PS5 Pro, at least we might have a few years to save up the money, right? Well, if this recent leak is anything to go by, the next-gen console could arrive sooner than we thought.
As reported by TweakTown (via Moore’s Law is Dead), specifications have leaked for the PlayStation 6, and if these details are correct, development of the console could already be long underway.

In a video detailing the alleged specs of the PlayStation 6, Moore’s Law is Dead reports that the next-gen console will be powered by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, which has enhanced ray tracing effects, AI upscalling and an AMD Orion processor.
It will also be easily capable of a 4K resolution at 120 frames-per-second, which will, of course, also depend on the quality of your TV or monitor. It’s also claimed that the PlayStation 6 will have a smaller chassis than the PS5 Pro
TweakTown also speculates that, judging by the reported specs of the PlayStation 6, it could indeed launch at the same price as the PlayStation 5 Pro.
Of course, we should take all of this speculation with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise, but we’ll let you know when we learn more about the PlayStation 6.
