The PlayStation 6 is already rumoured to be the most powerful console of all time but a recent report reveals that, despite this, it could still retail less than the PlayStation 5.
Despite not officially being confirmed or announced by Sony, we all know that the PlayStation 6 (or whatever it may be called) will arrive in the future.
Thanks to the issues with the launch of the PlayStation 5 and the very recent launch of the PlayStation 5 Pro, it may still be some years until we see the PS6 with insiders expecting it to be released around 2027/2028.
That being said, with technology fast advancing in recent years, it is not too hard to believe that the PlayStation 6 will be the most powerful console of all time.

Something that Youtuber Moore’s Law is Dead can pretty much confirm.
In a brand-new video, MLID has revealed that Sony’s next-generation console will be 3x faster than the PlayStation 5. It will also use less power, feature faster rasterization, improved ray tracing and include backwards compatibility with both the PS4 and PS5.
Better yet, it will reportedly be cheaper than the current PlayStation 5 price.
MLID reveals that the PS6 specs will include AMD's next-gen semi-custom "Orion" APU.

This APU will feature 8 x Zen 6 (or later) CPU cores, between 40 and 48 RDNA 5-based Compute Units with GPU clocks over 3.0GHz, with GDDR7 memory on a 160-bit or 192-bit memory bus with 32Gbps speeds.
Put simply, it is expected to push the limits of technology as we know it, making it a whole lot more powerful than any console on the current market.
Here is a list of all of the specs that players can expect in the PS6 according to MLID:
- Chiplet design, with some mention of possibly utilizing "Navi 5" desktop chiplets
- Backwards compatibility to PS5 and PS4 generations (no mention of PS3)
- Heavy emphasis on cost constraints, and keeping power lower than PS5
- Manufacturing planned for mid-2027, with a likely Fall 2027 or early-2028 release date
- 160W TBP
- 8 x Zen 6 (or later) cores
- 40-48 RDNA 5 Compute Units @ 3GHz+
- 160-bit or 192-bit bus w/GDDR7 @ 32GT/s+
- Rasterization performance estimated to be 3x PS5 (Ray Tracing uplift expected to be higher
Of course, this has not been confirmed by Sony and so is worth taking with a pinch of salt.

However, if true, the PlayStation 6 will definitely be a must-buy when it launches in the next few years.
