A very happy Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release day to all who celebrate. Can you believe it’s finally here?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a stellar game, and already amongst my top three favourites of all time. In my opinion, it’s got the best opening hour you’ll play this year - and I find it utterly baffling that some players are already slamming the game’s ‘bad’ graphics. I guess you can’t please everyone. In our review, GAMINGbible’s Ewan wrote, “It’s hard not to come away from my time with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 grinning from ear-to-ear. This is an amazing fantasy come to life and realised like never before. Insomniac Games has crafted yet another heartfelt Spider-Man story bursting with twists, turns, and show-stopping spectacle.”

Take a look at Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in action below.

Most players haven’t even had their hands on the game for 24 hours yet, but Insomniac Games is already teasing a spin-off - and that spin-off is for Venom. Don’t worry, we’ll be keeping this article entirely spoiler-free. It’s no secret that Venom appears in the game, seeing as he’s in just about every trailer. I won’t delve into his origins or motivations but it’s clear that Insomniac devs think the big slimy fella has more story to tell.

Narrative director Jon Paquette spoke to Insider, saying, “So, here's what we're doing. We're focused on Spider-Man 2, and what we're gonna do is we're gonna wait to see how the fans react. We're gonna listen to the fans and we're gonna ask ourselves, 'Okay, what do the fans really want?' [...] We'll kind of talk about stuff after we've all had time to sleep and take vacations."

If you have finished the game, we’ve got a deep dive explainer on the ending and post-credits scenes, analysing all possibilities of hinted spin-offs, DLCs, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. It goes without saying though, don’t dive into that until you’ve rolled credits.
