"Flicker-Man" doesn't have quite the same ring to it as Spider-Man

A brand new update just dropped for Insomniac Games’ hit sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is mainly just trying to fix all of the issues were introduced in the last patch for the game.

Roughly a week ago, patch version 1.004.000 dropped for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This patch was mainly focused on introducing support for the upcoming release of the PlayStation 5 Pro.

The most important among these was the introduction of the “Fidelity Pro” mode, which is designed to make the game look as pretty as possible on PS5 Pro hardware.

As the official patch notes on Insomniac Games’ website explain, “This mode targets 30 frames per second for players who want to experiment with new ray-tracing graphical features.”

“These new features can be tuned individually to reach higher intermediate frame rates, especially when using the “VRR” or “120 Hz Display Mode” options. Pedestrian and traffic density may be increased in some areas, and fine hair detail is increased.”

Alongside Fidelity Pro mode, last weeks patch also introduced ray-tracing toggles, a Performance Pro mode, and… some bugs.

Thankfully, a new patch for the game just dropped that’s hopefully fixed all of these issues for good.

As PlayStation LifeStyle’s Zarmena Khan explains, the latest patch notes details “fixes for possible flickering during fast travel”, a fix for “an issue where the mask on Miles’ Advanced Tech Suit was white across different styles” and general “stability improvements”.

And, unfortunately, that’s probably all you’re going to get for the foreseeable future.

As recently revealed by Insomniac Games, there are no current plans to release any DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The only thing we currently have to look forward to is the PC port of the game in January 2025.

But hey, at least that means we’ll get some cool mods. I bet that we’ll have Shrek mod within 24 hours of the game dropping.
