Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 didn’t just reunite us with Peter, Miles, and MJ. We also got to see fan-favourite Black Cat again - and while Black Cat’s inclusion in the story may be rather fleeting, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has confirmed the character to be bisexual.

Insomniac Games must be pretty proud right now. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is both an enormous critical and commercial success. It’s already PlayStation Studios’ fastest-selling game of all-time. It’s no surprise really that devs are already teasing a Venom spin-off as well as the seemingly inevitable Marvel’s Spider-Man 3. I say inevitable because in true franchise fashion, the game features several juicy post credits scenes. Even the creator of Super Smash Bros. has branded the game a “masterpiece”. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 isn’t just entertaining though. It’s great to see the game champion inclusion and diversity.

Take a look at Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 below.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 confirmed that, just like her comic book counterpart, Black Cat - also known as Felicia Hardy - is bisexual. As reported by The Gamer, this was confirmed in the comic book world a while back. While several issues had implied Black Cat’s sexuality, Black Cat #7 which landed in 2021 confirmed it when Felicia kissed Thieves Guild leader Odessa Drake.

It’s something that the original Marvel’s Spider-Man didn’t really touch upon though, despite the character receiving her own DLC. All we know is that she dated Pete. Warning: Mild Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 spoilers lie ahead. In the latest franchise instalment though, Black Cat temporarily reunites with Pete and Miles as she attempts to outrun Kraven, who’s hot on her heels. Not hot enough though.

She eventually escapes to Paris, telling Miles that she has a girlfriend waiting for her there. She asks Miles if he’s ever done “anything for love”, and it’s a really lovely moment in the story. Hopefully, it’s not the last we'll see of Black Cat. An iconic queen.
