Marvel's Spider-Man 2 becomes PlayStation's fastest-selling game ever

A major congratulations is due. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is already PlayStation Studios’ fastest-selling game of all-time.

Insomniac Games nailed it with this one. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a truly spectacular game - and it’s no surprise really that despite only being out for a few days, many players have already rolled credits. It’s an action-packed journey that’s oh so very difficult to put down. If you ask me, the game also has the best opening hour that you’ll play this year. Fans are in love with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s improved traversal. Web slinging already felt fantastic but add in the new slingshots, web wings and wind tunnels, and it’s become something really quite special. It’s the game everyone is talking about - and now Sony has announced the sales figures to prove it.

Over on the PlayStation Twitter account, a tweet read, “Great news, Spidey fans - Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has sold more than 2.5 million copies in the first 24 hours. Thanks for making this a high-flying launch!” An accompanying graphic also revealed that it is the “fastest selling PlayStation Studios game in PlayStation history.” Huge congratulations to everyone involved.

Already, fans are saying that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a surefire GOTY contender. In fact, it sounds as if the franchise’s future will continue to be bountiful.
