The inevitable sequel in the God of War franchise is hotly debated, mostly by fans wondering just where the game will take place.
The original games in the series had Kratos in his homeland of Greece, this was before the more recent reboot which took him to Nordic lands, but where does God of War go next?
Plenty of rumours put the next adventure in Egypt, which would certainly be a bold new direction, however, over on Reddit one fan thinks going further east would be a good choice.
In the message board thread, Fearless_Phantom puts forth the idea that a “side game” be made that follows Kratos’ son, Atreus.

In this game, the fan would like to see him head over to China, and be taken under the tutelage of Sun Wukong to explore Chinese mythology.
It’s not a bad idea, especially given the success of Black Myth: Wukong, and the rise in popularity of Chinese legends.
The Redditor goes on to explain that the game could feature “Wukong teaching Atreus how to be a better trickster god.”
This idea has been a hit among fans, with many thinking it is a bold direction for the series, and one that follows the exploration of mythology.

“Wukong is the reason why Loki becomes a trickster would be funny to watch,” replies one user.
Another fan jumps in to say, “Shut my money and take my up.”
It may seem a far-fetched idea, but the pairing isn’t too unusual, it would just depend on how much levity the studio would want for the next game.
Of course, this is all simply fans spitballing ideas, but it’s one rooted in good faith, and many dig it.

“Now that sounds completely…hol up…wait a minute? Let this man cook! Somebody phone Sony, we have an idea!” jokes another Redditor supportively.
Let him cook, indeed.
