Despite God of War 6 not having been officially announced by Santa Monica Studio, fans are feeling hopeful that Kratos and Atreus’ journeys will continue.

However, the big question centres around what will be next for the pair. Will they continue exploring the lands of ancient Scandinavia, or will Kratos return to his roots in ancient Greece? Could they go somewhere else entirely?

It has been almost three-years since God of War Ragnarök excited fans as the 2018 God of War reboot continued with great success.

The reboot, which continues on from the original God of War series from the early 2000s, showed our favourite Spartan warrior in a whole-new light as he took on the responsibilities of a parent for his son, Atreus.

Despite The Norse Saga concluding, fans still want more and it seems as though they also have their own opinion on where the God of War franchise should head next.

In a recent post over on r/GodofWar, one fan asked, “What mythology would you like next for GOW?”

As mentioned, the God of War franchise has already explored Norse and Greek mythology so it remains to be seen if Santa Monica Studio will branch out even further.

“Egyptian or Aztec,” the top comment by hnate1234 reads with over 80 upvotes.

It seems as though Egyptian mythology seems to be a popular choice and, as one fan points out, Kratos could have a reason for heading to Africa.

“One of the dialogues in Ragnarök (I believe on a boat) showed that Kratos considered the Egyptian gods somewhat likeable, stating that they ruled with humility. Probably the nicest thing he's ever said about a pantheon,” they explained.

“If he goes to Egypt for the next mainline game, I can feel mildly certain that he won't have any beef with the deities there, and the plot will have to do with something other than the classic formula of 'gods bad'.”

With other suggestions ranging from Celtic to Japanese to Mayan or even Scientology, it seems as though God of War 6 will have a lot to live up to when it is (hopefully) finally revealed.
