Ghost of Yotei Major Free Update Has Arrived, Patch Notes Here

A highly anticipated Ghost of Yōtei free update has arrived, and you can check out the patch notes right here.

The year 2025 has been a great year for video game releases with some favourites of mine being Silent Hill f, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, to name a few. I haven't had the chance to play Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 yet, but that will change.

Another personal favourite is the aforementioned Ghost of Yōtei, the follow-up to Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima, set 300 years after Jin Sakai’s story. In my review of Ghost of Yōtei, I gave it a 9/10.

Ghost Of Yōtei Is One of This Year's Best Games

“Ghost of Yōtei is pure cinematic brilliance, and Sucker Punch Productions deserves to be commended once more for knocking it out of the park and, in some ways, topping its predecessor,” I said in my review.

However, as much as I love Ghost of Yōtei, one of the things I felt it was missing was a New Game Plus feature. But to be fair to Sucker Punch Productions, as was the case with Ghost of Tsushima, its New Game Plus has arrived as a post-launch update.

With that in mind, as first teased a week or so ago, Update 1.100 has now landed for Ghost of Yōtei, and it’s available to download for free on PlayStation 5. The latest update not only adds New Game Plus, but also new difficulties, cosmetics, the ability to replay missions, new trophies, and more.

New Game Plus

• Added ability to replay challenge content after completing them once.
• All 22 Yōtei Six Camps.
• 26 Replayable Duels.
• Added a New Game Plus Vendor.
• Ghost Flowers will be rewarded across the game to be used as currency for the vendor.
• Various new cosmetic items and charms.
• Two new armour sets.
• Two new trophies.
• New Photo Mode features.
• VRR support.
• Added a new “Balanced” graphic mode.
• Requires a display that supports a refresh rate of 120Hz.
• Added option to remap touchpad swipe functions to the right directional button on the D-pad.
• New option to display a visual indicator when being led by animals.
• The player now has the ability to turn off fall damage.
• Some falls will still be lethal.
• Added option to automatically loot dead enemies.
• Added option to allow for skipping Sumi-e minigames.
• Added an additional load-out slot.
• Added new alternative controls for mini-games.

Performance and Stability

• Various rare crash fixes.
• Various fixes to rare visual bugs.

Gameplay

• Various bug fixes across several missions and mission blocker fixes.
• Bug fixes and minor adjustments to the autosave feature.
• A few adjustments to charm description text to better describe charm perks.

UI/UX

• Minor photo mode fixes and additional icons.
