Sucker Punch Productions’ latest release may have only just been launched but a major update is already on the way and free to all players.
After five years, the highly-anticipated sequel to 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima was finally released just last month and with the sequel already being considered in the Game of the Year line-up, it seems as though Sucker Punch Productions has another hit on its hands.
Now just weeks on from the launch of Ghost of Yōtei and a brand-new update is already up for grabs for players and better yet, it is currently free to download.
Released on 2 October, Ghost of Yōtei tells the story of Atsu, an onna-musha seeking vengeance against the "Yōtei Six" for slaughtering her family sixteen years prior.

Set in Japan during the 1600s, Ghost of Yōtei managed to build off the success of its predecessor and yet somehow still brought something new to the table.
Our very own Richard Lee Breslin called it “a powerful revenge-driven tale” in his review.
“Ghost of Yōtei is pure cinematic brilliance, and Sucker Punch Productions deserves to be commended once more for knocking it out of the park and, in some ways, topping its predecessor,” he wrote.
Now, as mentioned, a major update for Ghost of Yōtei is being rolled out.

Update 1.010 for Ghost of Yōtei is finally here for PlayStation 5 players and although it does not add any new content to the game, players can expect some ongoing issues to now be rectified.
At the time of writing, Sucker Punch has yet to provide any official patch notes for Update 1.010 but according to players, there are a myriad of small bugs and glitches that are still plaguing the game.
According to MP1st, this includes:
- Wolf Blade doesn’t change guard on different sword kits
- When Atsu dies and wakes up from camp, you travel right back to the Red Crane Inn (not sure how prevalent this is)
- Crashing issues still persist
- Endless loop after death of respawning inside a hole with spikes after falling in it with your horse (this is literally game-breaking and has no known fix for now)
- When you enter water, the oxygen meter would show up and deplete as if Atsu was submerged
- Dens are locked at 50 Coins
- “Kusarigama’s Regret” mission is causing the controller to stop working properly
- Moving through Yotei Grassland is causing controller issues
- “The Last Brother” bounty bug wherein the player cannot speak to the wounded guy at the bottom of the hill, nor can you spawn any bounty hunters to slay, which is the objective. This means the graves cannot be interacted upon and leaves the player stuck.
- Shrine issue showing as incomplete
- The last Epic Box not spawning
We at least hope that the upcoming patch will resolve at least some of these issues but until Sucker Punch reveals the official patch notes, we are still in the dark.
