Ghost of Yotei is getting its long-awaited free ‘Legends’ DLC, and it arrives much sooner than you might think.

Ghost of Yotei was one of my favourite games of 2025 and, in my humble opinion, was almost on par with Ghost of Tsushima. While expanding on its core gameplay and visuals, Ghost of Yotei traded a story about honour for pure revenge, which worked wonderfully for the new ronin protagonist, Atsu.

“Ghost of Yōtei is pure cinematic brilliance, and Sucker Punch Productions deserves to be commended once more for knocking it out of the park and, in some ways, topping its predecessor,” I said in my review.

“I’m somewhat torn between this and Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, but without question, Ghost of Yōtei is one of the absolute best games of 2025.” I scored it a well-deserved 9/10, and it was so close to a perfect 10!

The long-awaited ‘Legends’ mode has appeared during State of Play with a lush gameplay trailer featuring four-player co-op action, waves of enemies, boss fights and more.

Ghost of Yotei: Legends Arrives Soon

Check out the event's other announcements in our live blog, recapping all of the State of Play's reveals, updates, and trailers.

Legends will feature four character classes which will likely favour swords, archery, stealth and something more heavy-handed. Best of all, much like the Ghost of Tsushima iteration, Legends in Ghost of Yotei will be free for all those who own the game.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was an absolute blast, even when playing with mute randoms. In the vast majority of matches, I seemed to have been paired with players on the same wavelength. I guess it could have been the simplicity of the task at hand.

Sucker Punch Productions supported Ghost of Tsushima: Legends with some quality post-launch content, such as maps and new modes.

We were also treated to new unlockable skins from franchises like Bloodborne, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn and Shadow of the Colossus. These skins could not only be used in ‘Legends’, but also in the single-player campaign. I’m sure Ghost of Yotei will be no exception.

I can’t wait to play the new ‘Legends’ mode when it arrives exclusively on PlayStation 5 next month. Ghost of Yotei: Legends will be released on 10 March 2026.
