Ghost Of Yōtei is out today! It’s been a long time since Ghost of Tsushima amazed PlayStation fans but its sequel is finally here and it’s very, very good.

Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive so far but, of course, we’ll be eagerly awaiting reviews from gamers all around the world who’ll be jumping in for their first playthroughs.

Before you dive in though, there’s an enormous patch that you’ll have to download first, and it makes so many changes.

The version 1.006 update adds 79 improvements to the game, giving you a much different experience to that of reviewers, hopefully for the better.

While the list of improvements is much too big and extensive to share here, know that it targets the following core parts of Ghost Of Yōtei: performance and stability, gameplay, animation, environment and UI/UX.

Some of the standout changes include balancing to the weapons, better textures for the open-world as well as plenty of bug fixes.

Keep in mind that Ghost Of Yōtei performed very well in almost all of its reviews, so any improvements to the game feel like a cherry on top.

One of my favourite additions from this list is some additions to the game’s photo mode. Ghost Of Tsushima allowed us to capture some truly stunning images so I can’t wait to see how players get creative with Ghost Of Yōtei.

As far as I’m aware, Ghost Of Yōtei can be played without having to play the previous game, but if you haven’t played the first one yet, you can easily do so through PlayStation Plus Extra. The PlayStation 5 version of the game greatly enhanced it but Ghost Of Yōtei will still feel like an upgrade as it was made solely for the PlayStation 5 hardware.

Unfortunately, PC users can’t play the game yet, but fear not as Sony has been more than keen on porting its best games to PC, and in due time, I’m sure Ghost Of Yōtei will get the same treatment.

Ghost Of Yōtei is out right now for PlayStation 5 users, and delivers a brand-new narrative-focused adventure with new characters, a new open-world to explore and more mysteries to uncover. It feels like a true sequel and it’ll no doubt get plenty of recognition at this year’s Game Awards.
