A new graphics overhaul for The Witcher 3 looks absolutely stunning, and only the mightiest PCs might be able to run it.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now 10 years old, but it still remains one of the most gorgeous games you can play on last-gen hardware.
Even though it’s had updates to improve the graphics and performance on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, PC modders have been able to enhance the visuals even further with various overhauls.
A new set of The Witcher 3 mods showcased by YouTuber Digital Dreams is making the rounds online, transforming the game from its 2015 visuals into something that looks truly next-gen.

This latest overhaul for The Witcher 3 utilises over 50 mods to improve texture quality, grass quality, lighting, anti-aliasing, and all sorts of other graphical features.
Ray-tracing has been added to the game, and it’s running at 4K and over 160FPS.
I’m not even sure if the PlayStation 6 will be capable of something like this, considering the hardware requirements just to get it to run smoothly.
Digital Dreams’ PC specs consist of an RTX 5090, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and 64GB of RAM. It’s an incredibly beefy rig, and serves more as a demonstration of what this hardware can achieve rather than a showcase for other players to use.

If you tried this with your average gaming computer, it may as well melt right in the middle of your living room. Still, you’re more than welcome to try if you think it’s up to the task.
We’re still a ways out from seeing more of The Witcher 4, but considering the leaps in hardware advancements that’ll be available by then, I’m sure this will stand as a testament to what the next game in CD Projekt Red’s RPG series will look like.
