This Witcher 3: The Last Wish mod looks so good, it could easily pass as the upcoming The Witcher 4.
The Witcher 4 was first announced by CD Projekt RED developer, Cyberpunk 2077, in 2022, and since that time, it’s been an agonising wait for fans of Geralt of Rivia and Ciri, the Lady of Time.
That patience was rewarded with its first trailer for The Witcher 4, revealed at The Game Awards 2024; however, as great as that trailer was, it featured no gameplay.

Thankfully, just this month, CDPR revealed the first gameplay for The Witcher 4, powered by Unreal Engine 5, and to say that it is stunning would be an understatement.
Unfortunately, as sublime as The Witcher 4 gameplay looked, fans need to be more patient for its arrival, perhaps even a couple more years, at least. So, it’s a good job that we can rely on the talents of modders to help keep us busy in the meantime.
Enter ‘The Last Wish Project’, adapted from the Andrzej Sapkowski novel of the same name (kinda), which inspired Netflix’s The Witcher series.
“Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, a man whose magic powers and lifelong training have made him a brilliant fighter and a merciless assassin,” reads the synopsis of The Witcher: The Last Wish.

“Yet he is no ordinary killer: he hunts the vile fiends that ravage the land and attack the innocent. But not everything monstrous-looking is evil; not everything fair is good, and in every fairytale there is a grain of truth.”
‘The Last Wish’ mod, while still in its alpha phase of development, promises to be a faithful adaptation of its inspiration novel and right now, you can take part in its testing phase of development.
The only snag is that this mod is only compatible with the PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. For the rest of us, at least we can enjoy the game as originally intended on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
We’ll keep you posted when further information drops on The Witcher 4.
