If you’re struggling with the wait for GTA VI, this new game may tide you over until November.

With Rockstar Games not expected to launch Grand Theft Auto VI until November, now is a great time to check out some alternatives to fill the wait.

We’ve said before that games like Sleeping Dogs and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown are solid alternatives to GTA VI, but this recent hit from Tripwire Presents is sure to turn some heads.

The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire is an open world game where you play as a criminal kingpin balancing the responsibility of running a successful nightclub with demonstrating brutal street power over your rivals.

“Manage VIPs, fight rival mafias, and outsmart the corrupt police in a city where every decision matters,” reads the official store description for The Boss Gangster.

“This unique game offers you the perfect opportunity to delve into the depths of both the business world and the criminal underworld.

“Manage VIPs and drug deals in the same hour. Negotiate with dirty cops or bury your enemies. Every choice you make will shape your rise to power.”

The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire Is Available Now On Steam Early Access

In terms of advertised features, the nightclub management side of things is only 50% of the game, where you need to handle VIP guests, stock bars, hire dancers, and throw wild themed nights.

On the other hand, the open world gangster missions are where the GTA VI comparisons truly lie, where you must eliminate rivals, bury bodies, and defend your turf from enemy attacks.

There’s also the police which you need to keep at bay, either by bribing them, influencing the mayor, or keeping your nose clean as much as possible to shake off any unwanted attention.

The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire is available on Steam right now as an Early Access title.

In terms of what developer BEF Games will be bringing to the game in the future, it says it plans to “expand the city, add new mafia families, introduce more club types, items, missions, and even sea mechanics with boats and ocean-based activities”.

BEF Games says its goal is “to make the game even more detailed and immersive. Something that can stand alongside open-world titles like GTA.”

With an Early Access period of around one year, plus no apparent console presence, it appears like the game will be a decent GTA VI alternative as we wait for the PC release.
