PlayStation Plus’ extra tier is set to welcome its February free game drop tomorrow.
This time around, nine new games will join the tier’s catalogue with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 undoubtedly acting as February’s headliner.
That’ll be joined by Neva, Season: A Letter to the Future, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, Monster Hunter Stories, Venba, Echoes of the End Enhanced Edition, Rugby 25, and one more game.
That game is Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown which pitches itself as a competitor to Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto VI.
Another Sunny, Sprawling Open-World That May Scratch The Vice City Itch
As spotted by ScreenRant, game director Guillaume Guinet previously said, “For me, we are the competitors of GTA VI, Forza, and The Crew.”

He continued, “At first, we didn’t think we would make this game, but when we drew up the project, we thought it really could. I don’t have any fear of GTA VI for now, as we’re not in the same window.”
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is a racer developed by KT Racing and published by Nacon that first landed in 2024.
It offers a sprawling open-world where players can freely race whilst collecting and upgrading new cars.
The game didn’t exactly review well with the media criticising the longevity of the game arguing that it grows a tad stale after a while.
It’s for that reason that I wouldn’t say that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is a direct GTA VI competitor.
You shouldn’t expect the same kind of gameplay formula.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is undoubtedly gorgeous though regardless of whether it has the substance to back up its impressive open-world.
It’s an open-world that wouldn’t look out of place with the name Rockstar Games attached so at the very least, GTA VI gamers may want to download Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown just to drive around in preparation for those upcoming Vice City cruises.
Let’s face it, we’ve got plenty of time to kill.
Grand Theft Auto VI isn’t set to land until 19 November. Pre-orders are yet to open but Rockstar Games is pretty adamant that the game is on track to launch then.
In fact, fans of the franchise have already taken to discussing how they’ll spend the game’s opening three hours, debating whether they’ll follow the main story or go off and explore.
As a reminder, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown lands on PlayStation Plus’ extra tier tomorrow, on 17 February, alongside the remainder of this month’s offerings.
