In each entry, The Witcher series has you step into the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, proficient monster-slayer and professional grump. However, this free download can see you take on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as your very own custom character.
Unlike CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt only lets you take on the story as Geralt of Rivia himself. However, as with any RPG, there have been fans calling out to be able to play as their own custom character.

Although it is doubtful that this will become a possibility in upcoming entries, one modder has been tirelessly working over the last couple of years to make this a reality.
Custom Player Characters is a brand-new mod for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt created by nikich340 on Nexus Mods.
The official description reads: “This mod allows you to smoothly play as any Witcher, Witcheress or Sorceress. Fully customisable appearance.”
Not only can players fully customise their own character, they can also use existing NPCs such as Ciri.
Additionally, there is a new magic combat system and new fully-voiced questline for the Sorceress type. For those who want to play as a female character, all of Geralt’s animations will be adapted for them including voice lines in all languages.
If you want to see the mod in action before you download, its creator has posted a demo video over on YouTube which shows the different characterisation options as well as the new questline for Sorceress.
The only downside here is that all voice lines were created using AI so bear that in mind if you choose to use this mod. Other than that, it is a fantastic creation by one dedicated fan.
