Avengers: Secret Wars Leak 'Confirms' Exact Nature of MCU Reboot

It should all start making sense

A new leak for Avengers: Secret Wars suggests how exactly the MCU is going to reboot itself.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been going for almost two decades now, and in that time we’ve had a countless number of different heroes, villains, teams and events occur.

One of the biggest complaints from Marvel fans in a post-Endgame world has been that the MCU feels far too bloated now. There are so many different characters and plot threads to follow, and it’s getting off-putting even for longtime fans.

New rumours have suggested that Marvel will reboot the universe following the release of Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. And it seems some new claims have suggested exactly how that will occur.

According to a new scoop by The Cosmic Circus, this new soft reboot will bring the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and Spider-Man all together into a single timeline and canon.

Cosmic Circus explains that this was always the plan back when the original idea for the next Avengers film involved Kang.

“Back when Avengers 5 was still 'The Kang Dynasty,' one of the big twists was how the Earth we have seen in these films and shows was not Earth-616, but rather a version of Earth-616 cultivated by He Who Remains that removed many heroes from what was ORIGINALLY Earth-616. This would have been called Earth Prime.

“It’s why Doctor Strange vaguely remembers the Fantastic Four as a 'band' that charted in the 60s instead of them being world-renowned astronauts who gained powers after a space exploration, or why Erik Lehnsherr never became Magneto, or why Charles Xavier was a simple college professor.

“The reset expected in Avengers: Secret Wars would alter that course of events and bring with it an Earth that was always meant to be filled with Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. And we’d basically be in the middle of a timeline where everyone in the world thinks that this has always been the case since the beginning of time.”

As this is still a rumour at this point, be sure to take all of this with a grain of salt.

Considering all the different universe crossovers that are occurring in the next two Avengers films though, it sounds like a soft reboot bringing them all together is quite likely.

From the sounds of it, this will also give Marvel an opportunity to retcon certain unpopular aspects of the MCU to streamline the canon a little.
