An expansion mod for The Witcher 3 adds a new quest to the game, and it’s worth playing if you’re a fan of the game’s best DLC.

The Witcher 3 is still the greatest game CD Projekt Red has ever made. The work that the developer put into Cyberpunk 2077 to make it the sci-fi RPG it was meant to be was fantastic, and if the game has released in the state it’s in now, there’s no question it would have been eligible for Game Of The Year. That said The Witcher 3 was perfect when it launched and perfect now, and mods somehow make it even better.

So gather around and let me tell you about a mod called The Witcher 3: A Night to Remember, created by nikich340. Simply put, it’s a quest expansion specifically for the Blood & Wine DLC, also known as the greatest video game expansion to ever exist.

This isn’t just extra busy work either, this is a huge quest featuring new and returning characters, with a unique story that’s fully voice-acted. It even features some important choices to make, and a worthwhile reward for seeing it through to the end.

The prerequisite is you need to have finished at least the main storyline of the Blood & Wine DLC, though the mod’s creator also recommends you complete the “Blood Simple" quest given to you by Orianna. They also suggest the player be at least level 50 before tackling the expansion.

If you’ve taken care of all that business though, you can play the quest uninterrupted, and enjoy new content for a game that’s nearly a decade old, even if it wasn’t created by CD Projekt Red themselves.

Mods like these should at least tie players over until the release of The Witcher 4, which is currently in development at the time of writing.
