The Elder Scrolls Skyrim: Apotheosis will massively expand the game in 2025

2025 can't come soon enough, am I right?

Who doesn’t love reading about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim? Especially when said reading involves news of a massive expansion coming your way in 2025.

Let’s face it, few games come close to matching Skyrim – oh, they try, just look at Starfield, but they just don’t have the staying power that Skyrim does. Try as Bethesda might to make Starfield every bit as epic as its fan-favourite RPG, it just doesn’t come close, and with this upcoming Skyrim expansion, we fear it never will escape from Skyrim’s shadow.

How amazing does 'Apotheosis' look?!

‘Apotheosis’ is the kind of expansion gamers have been dreaming of, with its shiny new trailer nothing short of mind-blowing. We’re talking open-world exploration, dark mythicism and enthralling stories, alongside the narrative splendour we’ve previously seen from Skyrim. Granted, this is a fan-created expansion as opposed to an official one, but we don’t doubt for a second it’ll be every bit as spectacular as the base game.

Unfortunately, though, we can’t tell you much beyond that because The Elder Scrolls ‘Apotheosis’ mod page has been set to ‘hidden’ as of 6 December; talk about ramping up the anticipation. However, while we can’t read the specifics on the NexusMods page, we can see most of the details via the trailer.

“I can’t believe this is a mod for Skyrim. Absolutely beautiful, I literally cannot wait until 2025,” said one excited fan after watching the trailer, with many other gamers quickly following suit. Another said, “I first heard of the Apotheosis project like four years ago, and ever since it’s been a sort of 'holy grail' of Skyrim modding for me, it seemed almost too good to be true.”

They continued, “I've intentionally kept myself from getting too excited because of how infrequently these projects of this scope get completed. Seeing a release year feels almost unreal to me, like a dream come true. I'm so proud of you guys for proving me wrong so many times, and I can hardly wait to play the final result!”

Believe us when we say, that the hype emanating from the comments doesn’t come close to capturing just how incredible this mod looks. Make sure you check it out for yourselves to prepare for one of the most highly anticipated Skyrim fan-made expansions ever created (in our humble opinion).
