The amazing classic, Star Wars Jedi Knight 2, has had a bit of a remastered facelift and been brought up to date, showing off some RTX curves, shadows and colour.
If you played the original Star Wars title back in 2002, you’ll remember it for its excellent lightsaber battles, and engaging story.
You can give it a try via a mod that was put together for an ‘RTX REMIX’ contest, which saw this creator completely overhaul one particular level, making it look like it only came out last week.
Essentially a tech demo, it took “a lot of trial and error” to produce, and the results are stunning.

It can apparently be played using either an abandonware download, or even the GOG version of the game.
Plenty of fans are giving the demo a try and enjoying the improvements, all boosted with enhanced ray tracing, resulting in gorgeous light and shadows.
Among those who have played the short tech demo, one user said it to be, “Wonderful Work,” while another claimed, “Absolute cinema this RTX mod.”
From the screenshots alone, it’s clear what an improvement this is, as we see Stormtroopers is stark white armour stood against dark and moody space station interiors.

The ray tracing capabilities work well with the neon lighting, adding a layer of atmosphere that is sometimes lacking in older retro games.
If you’re aiming to give this a try, it’s worth keeping in mind that it will put a heavy strain on your GPU, and it’s recommended to use an NVIDIA RTX 3090 in order to run the demo at 50fps.
We’d love to see more of this, but it’s quite the undertaking for one person, or even a small modding team.
However, interest in this shows that Star Wars fans are always eager to experience the older games all over again.
