Skyrim next-gen remaster proves we’ll be playing this game forever

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may be fourteen years old but there is no denying that the Bethesda RPG is here to stay with fans still flocking to it to this day.

Cementing itself as a modern-day classic, it is no surprise that players fell head over heels with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim when it first released back in 2011, especially considering it is still the most recent entry in the series.

Check out the trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below!

With Bethesda reportedly working on development for The Elder Scrolls VI, fans have been left feeling disappointed with the lack of updates.

As a result, they are turning back to the land of Skyrim but with a twist, of course.

Skyrim has one of the most dedicated modding communities in gaming and it is because of them that the game has managed to stay relevant to this day.

For one user over on r/skyrim, their motto is, “Reject modernity. Mod Skyrim into next gen forever”.

This post was accompanied by a series of screenshots which shows an almost unrecognisable Skyrim as it is clear that this user has added quite a few mods to the classic game.

One such mod includes this pack which recommends multiple different mods that will help boost your game for the modern-day.

It includes a weather changer, combat overhaul, vanilla weapons replacer, dialogue overhauls, and much more.

Better yet? They are all completely free to add to your game if you play Skyrim on PC.

However, for some players, this does not bode well for TES VI when it is finally released.

“At this point, The Elder Scrolls 6 won’t even look as good as modded skyrim,” one user said.

Another said: “I didn't understand it at first but after using mods that actually changed the game significantly I don't think I can go back.”

Regardless of how long we have to wait for the next The Elder Scrolls instalment, it seems as though, thanks to modders, we will still have Skyrim for a long time.
