A first look at the Diagon Alley set from the upcoming Harry Potter television series has been revealed.

As reported by The Sun, a walk through the set of Diagon Alley has been revealed in a 60 second video clip, showing us what the show’s interpretation of the key location will be.

As fans of the book will know, Diagon Alley is the hidden shopping area that is available only to wizards and witches, having a particularly important presence in the first book where Harry gets his school supplies at the very beginning.

The video shows that the street has been made narrower from its film counterpart, possibly to emphasise how secluded it is from the general public.

It also helps the location to feel a lot more bustling once it’s packed all those extras in there.

In particular, we get a clear look at Gringotts, the wizarding bank which also plays a large role in the first book, as well as a few of the shops that Harry will be visiting.

There also appears to be a café named “Accioffee!”, a reference to the Accio spell which appears in the books. This establishment does not appear in the books, and seems to be made specifically for the TV show.

There are a lot more details to parse in this video, particularly stuff that Harry Potter fans will be getting excited about. For example, a door decorated with different constellations and astrological signs appears to be present on the set, though its purpose right now is unknown.

The Harry Potter TV series, first rumoured to be in development in 2021, also filmed a scene where a wizard stands on a rooftop, gleefully shooting spells into the sky.

A lot of fans think this could solve a 30 year mystery from the original Order of the Phoenix book.

The idea behind it is to essentially film the series for eight years, with one season corresponding to one book, and that the first season is set to air on HBO in 2027.

Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton have been cast as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Grainger.

In addition to that, John Lithgow has been cast as Albus Dumbledore, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape. Nick Frost will play Rubeus Hagrid.

Eight episodes are expected to air in early 2027, covering the entirety of the first book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
