Skyrim meets Assassin’s Creed Black Flag in free RPG adventure

This is everything we've wanted and more

There’s nothing as glorious as heading out onto the open seas, the wind rushing through your hair as you mark one of several new locations on your map. Fortunately, a free RPG adventure is about to land in your laps (metaphorically speaking) that will allow you to pursue that dream.

A meaty offering of land and sea, Tasheni's The Pride of Teia is how we’d imagine a collaboration between Skyrim and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag would be. Within its story players will find six isles to travel to, each with unique landscapes, wildlife and aquatic wonders to discover.

What else can you do with 24 hours in Skyrim?

It sounds incredible. But if the thought of tearing yourself away from Skyrim has you still gripped after you learned of new quests after a decade, don’t worry because Tasheni's The Pride of Teia is a mod for Bethesda’s RPG.

As if visiting new lands near and far wasn’t thrilling enough for all you would-be sailors (okay, pirates then), you’ll be doing your exploration aboard the fully sailable ship of The Pride of Teia. But be warned, as the modder behind this swashbuckling DLC-sized mod mentions, the original Skyrim wasn’t designed to handle such additions, so make sure to read the installation information carefully.

“The ship is amazing, keep up the good work,” posted one happy player. “I love the freedom of sailing the seas of Skyrim.” Undeniably, being able to sail like Kenway from Black Flag is the only issue any of us really have with Skyrim. That and its lack of next-gen visuals, though that problem is easily remedied thanks to an ultra-modded version of the game.

For those wanting to read all the mod details, make sure to head to Tasheni’s The Pride of Teia NexusMods page – and don’t skim-read. We appreciate there’s a lot of text to get through, but there’s also a lot that can go wrong if you don’t follow the instructions exactly. And nobody wants to witness the ship sailing off without them!
