This gorgeous new RPG is most certainly one for fans of Skyrim and Black Flag.

If you asked many fans of Bethesda’s fantasy RPG series, The Elder Scrolls, which is their best game, there’s a good chance that most would reply with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, a game originally released in 2011 before being ported to every generation since.

Furthermore, many fans of Ubisoft’s stealthy series, Assassin’s Creed, might answer with 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. However, unlike Skyrim, Black Flag hasn't benefited from a constant flurry of new and improved releases.

That being said, if the constant rumours of their being a full remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in the works are true, fans of that swashbuckling entry have every reason to be optimistic.

In the meantime, if you’d like to indulge in a game that has hints of both The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, then the indie game developed and published by Parasight might be your cup of tea.

“Ascend to the highest fathom of a pirate underworld with the infamous Davy Jones on this action-packed, revenge-driven journey,” reads the description of Davy x Jones on Steam. “Control the captain's headless body, stay on pace with his autonomous skull and keep his legend alive.”

Judging by its gameplay trailer, Davy x Jones looks like it could be a lot of fun, with its Skyrim and Black Flag DNA clear to see.

Davy x Jones doesn't have a confirmed release date at the time of writing, but you can at least get an early sample of the game by downloading its free playable demo on Steam right now.

It might also be worth wishlisting Davy x Jones on Steam, so that you can be notified when the full game is ready to launch.

Hopefully, if the game proves to be a success on PC, it might sail its way onto consoles at a later date.
