Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is finally getting its sequel, and it’s arriving this coming November.

With so many games to choose from in the popular Ubisoft series, it can be quite a challenging task to pick out a single favourite from the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

That being said, the likes of Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey or Assassin’s Creed Origins are all likely to be at the top of many fans' lists.

However, one other game that will likely top those lists is 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag starring the endlessly charismatic Edward Kenway.

In recent months, there have been a lot of rumours claiming that Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is getting a full remake. As a big fan of the series, I hope that proves to be true, and it’s a case of there being no smoke without fire.

In the meantime, while we wait for the yet-to-be confirmed Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake, we can get our Edward Kenway fix by picking up this new sequel.

The sequel in question is a new graphic novel series published by Viz Media called Assassin’s Creed: Forgotten Temple.

Sure, it’s not a video game sequel that most of us probably wanted, but judging by previous Assassin’s Creed graphic novels, this upcoming release should be a treat.

“An all-new adventure featuring Edward Kenway, following the events of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag,” reads the synopsis of the novel. “It's time for infamous pirate and Assassin Edward Kenway to take on one last swashbuckling mission.”

“Shifting alliances with new friends, deadly battles with the scheming Templars, and all-new enemies are going to put all of Kenway's skills to the test in Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple.”

When can we pick up this new graphic novel, I hear you ask? In the US, Assassin's Creed: Forgotten Temple releases on paperback on 18 November and 18 December 2025 in the UK.
