Skyrim free download lets you explore an entirely new region

It's time to pack up your gear and head out – more adventures await!

Why do we keep coming back to Skyrim? It’s because there’s always something new to explore – whole new regions open up that demand our attention, and we have to jump straight back into its magical world.

You can, of course, play Skyrim’s base game vanilla, never tempted by the expansive qualities of mods. However, doing so is to miss out on a huge part of what makes Bethesda’s legendary RPG such a rewarding experience.

Just look at ‘Assault on Valenwood’, a NexusMods offering that opens up a new region for you to hack and slash your way through. You can go rambling, but there’s a lot of enemies out for blood the moment you arrive, so it’s likely “there will be no sightseeing”.

Care to take a holiday and experience 24 hours of living in Skyrim?

Your character will need to be loaded up with potions, as its modder, theblackfist, advises. What is more, you should never stray too far away from your allies, lest you get lost. “It's very easy to get lost while exploring Valenwood. Southeast Valenwood especially is quite a maze, and even I, theblackfist, still get confused on where to go to get to one of the cities down there.”

If theblackfist can get lost, there’s no telling what will happen to us!

Despite how maze-like certain areas are, fans are loving the intricacies of this mod, saying “THANK YOU @theblackfist for all of your AMAZING work in creating this mod. It is very nice to be able to see Valenwood outside of Elder Scrolls Online".

What makes this expansion even more appealing is the fact it offers balanced battles, as demonstrated by how the modder has indicated which battles are easy, medium, and hard. It’s the little things that make such a big difference.

For those wanting to see if they’ve got what it takes to beat ‘Assault on Valenwood’, head to its NexusMods page and begin your download. There’s even an Xbox mod available, according to the description.
