Resident Evil Village isn’t an ugly game; far from it. The Capcom title not only blew fans away with its visuals, but it also entertained and spooked with its action-packed and sometimes emotive story.

Every Resident Evil fan has their favourite title; however, few can deny that Resident Evil Village lived up to its hype upon launch in May 2021.

It sold six million copies in just nine months.

Even gamers who aren’t usually a fan of the franchise found several reasons to keep on playing – and not just because of Lady Dimitrescu.

One reviewer said, “Super fun game. Heck, I even replayed it twice after finishing the first time and I'm not a big Resident Evil fan, but they really brought their A game with this entry.”

Despite not mentioning its aesthetic here, there are plenty of other comments, from both fans and critics like, who found its gothic visuals stunning.

Not that we’ll ever say no to seeing those gorgeous graphics turned up to 11 for extra wow factor.

Showcased by Digital Dreams, the 4K graphics update of Resident Evil Village has us salivating at the thought of how beautiful Resident Evil 9 will be.

Although some fans started to roast RE9 plans the moment the Capcom title was announced, for the most part, people can’t wait for the new chapter in the series.

If the next game is half as attractive as this 4K overhaul for Village – and let’s face it, it will be – we're in for a real feast for the eyes.

This isn’t just a showcase though, for you can also play the ultra modded version for yourselves if you wish.

Digital Dreams has included a link to the modlist used; we just hope your PC can handle it.

There are other ways to get your Resident Evil fix if you want to experience a horror game but without playing through familiar scenes.

Skyrim and Resident Evil come together to create a hit experience on Steam, and it has a free download you can enjoy to boot.

It might not be in 4K, but you know where to go whenever you want to envision what the future of the Resident Evil franchise will look like.
