If you want to breathe new life into the fantastic game that is Red Dead Redemption 2, then you’re in the right place my fellow Wild West enthusiast.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and instantly, Rockstar Games had yet another massive hit on its hands. Even today, the Red Dead Redemption prequel is one of the most visually stunning and immersive games that you’ll ever play.

Check out the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer below!

Sadly, despite pleas from fans, there has been no free new-gen update on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S that would give the framerate a boost from 30fps to 60fps. Knowing Rockstar Games, if that was to happen, Red Dead Redemption 2 would probably be re-released at full price.

However, if you play Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, you can take advantage of mods that will not only make this gorgeous game look better than ever but will also add new content to the game, such as the mod that is the topic of today’s article.

That very mod is called ‘Ambush’ created by RedPeds and is available to download for free via Nexusmods right now.

“This mod introduces dynamic ambush encounters across various regions in the game world, including - West Grizzlies, West-Elizabeth, Big Valley, Heartlands, Cumberland, Lemoyne and Roanoke Ridge,” reads its description.

The ‘Ambush’ mod will result in NPCs randomly appearing in the wild to rob you of all your possessions, that’s unless you successfully shoot them in the forehead, of course. In total, these encounters will occur across 52 randomised locations to help keep you on your toes.

As with the nature of most mods, ‘Ambush’ is only compatible with the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Nonetheless, the game is still incredible on consoles without mods, so you need not worry.
